A great resource to get you into action in developing many skills we often take for granted or neglect. The author has 52 short chapters (2-3 pages) on topics relating to mindset, personal development, connecting, oral and writing skills, and leadership.
It is very apparent that the author is very knowledgeable in career and personal growth as he shares examples of the trials and tribulations of his journey. The writing style is very conversational and easy to digest.
I found a couple of the chapters a bit short, and I think this was done to keep the format of the book consistent. Possibly a few "for more information" links might have been helpful.
While some of the topics are might review for many, I know personally that knowing and doing are two different things. I found this book an excellent way to reintroduce many ideas and learn many new ones. The author suggests taking on an idea per week and incorporating that into the week's goals; I believe an excellent idea. This is the perfect book to digest on a daily basis, similar to word of the day calendars but with real benefit. Definitely worth a read.

Take Tom Catalini’s advice—gain wisdom in your life and career!

It feels like a rare find to discover an information technology professional that demonstrates what is attainable within a career, and one who freely gives ongoing reminders to seek professionalism. Tom Catalini is that technology professional—a professional who sets an example himself, and seeks to guide other TECHNOLOGY professionals to become true BUSINESS professionals.
The reality is that most technologists don’t read, write, and speak as much as they should, and often don’t think outside of our technology-based world. Tom reminds us that business is the purpose, and technology is a component that enables business. He passes on his experience and wisdom through weekly e-mails, webinars, and a series of short, easy-on-the-schedule books.
Two of my favorite chapters are: Chapter 11—“DONE IS BETTER THAN PERFECT” (All projects are not created equal); and, Chapter 26—“GIVE AN ANCHOR TO KEEP THEIR ATTENTION AFLOAT” (Tell them the point, then fill in the details).
