My fascination to anything Spanish lately and the forthcoming trip to Madrid with the partner are the main reasons why I now have this book. It is a good starting point and I like that it was categorized properly from the basic down to the much more complex words. I think retention is much more effective that way. The sentences are pretty simple and just one liners but enough that we can make small talks with the locals when we visit. I’m just a little distracted because they are not alphabetically arranged so it can get confusing at times. Spacing should be adjusted as well so that table illustrations need not be cut off and punctuations must be properly observed. Nevertheless, I think it’s a decent book and can be put into good use when the right time comes.

I purchased this e book for a low price and now I'll write my opinion about it. Sometimes I teach English language for some people and even if I try to do dynamic activities, I feel I need more tips to make them understand that learning is not just learning... now, that I have read the book, I know some other advice for them. This book gives you many tips to learn the language despite I thought it was going to show like 1,2,3 english. Nevertheless, it is a good book to pass the time! I will recommend them so they can practice both reading and taking advice.

This is a great book for those native Spanish speakers who want to learn how to speak English more. In here, you will know the most frequently used words for daily conversations. This will enable you to focus on learning the necessary words in order to know how to communicate using this foreign language. Author Sandra Moncrief grew up in Pascagoula, a fishing village on the Mississippi Gulf shore, which served as a hub for US naval shipbuilding during World War II. Throughout her childhood, Moncrief’s mother and grandmother recounted the strange incident, and, at the urging of a college professor, she decided to investigate.

In this riveting exploration of a perplexing crime in a quiet southern community, Moncrief introduces readers to William Dolan—the man who was arrested, convicted, and ultimately served time.

But as Moncrief digs deep into the story, she shines a light on the protestations of innocence raised by Dolan’s daughter and wife and the strange circumstances around his death—and invites readers to judge for themselves whether or not he was the culprit.

About the Author

Sandra Moncrief was born and raised in Pascagoula, Mississippi, and graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi with a BS in history.

After retiring from banking, Moncrief worked for several years at a ranch in Wyoming. She currently resides in Diamondhead, Mississippi.

She is the author of “The Mississippi Married Women's Property Act of 1839,” published by the Journal of Mississippi History.

The Phantom Barber story really hapened

This is an outstanding true story -- one jointly witnessed by all Pascagoula residents of Pascagoula MS in 1942. I was 8 years old then, and living in Pascagoula at the outset of this spree of terror launched by the Phantom Barber in 1942 by someone of still uncertain identity -- uncertain identity both then and now. It is a story of boom-towns of smaller cities having shipyards already in production following the Japanese bombing of Pearl Harbor which destroyed most of our navy in WW-2. These cities experienced unprecedented growth immediately following "Pearl Harbor".

I lived directly across the street (Grant St.) of two of those in this story who are believed to have been intended victims of the Phantom Barber and can thereby vouch for the terror created by the Phantom Barber. Additionally, the story of the person convicted of those crimes then resembles also, the current Netflix hit covering the story of Steven Avery in "Making A Murderer" .

Trust me -- you won't go wrong in buying this book and I can personally vouch for the high level of tension that existed in Pascagoula Ms. during this brief period of Pascagoula history and am so pleased to now have a book that confirms what I have tried so long to explain to both myself and others.

Very interesting true story

Well written story about a true event on the Mississippi gulf coast. Although I'm not that familiar with Pascagoula, the author describes in great detail to make you feel you are there. Keeps the reader entertained and hard to put down. Sad to read how corrupt law enforcement was at this time.

About the Author

John E Wade II was born in Decatur, Alabama, grew up in Georgia and Mississippi, and has lived in New Orleans for many years. Early in his stint at the Air Force Academy, he was inflicted with a severe case of meningitis, leading to his first experience with bipolar disorder, and his subsequent honorable medical discharge. He subsequently enrolled at the University of Georgia, and received a BBA and MA. He worked in accounting for nearly thirty years in both the private and public sectors.

John began writing in 1998. His first book, Focus Investing, was purchased by John E. Wiley & Sons, but never published. His next work, How to Achieve a Heaven on Earth, is a collection of essays from 101 individuals, including world leaders and Nobel and Pulitzer prize winners, about the ten elements of heaven on earth, as John conceived them. In 2012, John released Ronald Reagan's Wisdom for the Twenty-First Century, presenting some of Reagan's most insightful and articulate quotations. Glimpses of Heaven on Earth, released in 2014, received a 2014 Living Now Book Award. It is a compilation of quotations and insightful essays by five authors.

John is a world traveler, and passionate citizen of his adopted home town, New Orleans, where he enjoys the unique food, architecture, music, and Saints football games. He is also a fan of his alma mater, the Bulldogs of the University of Georgia, and Mississippi State University, where the Davis Wade Stadium was named after his father.

The memoir is easy, honest and sincere reading. The memoir identifies the horrendous mental health stigma that exists in our society. The stigma is harmful and debilitating which prevents the healing process to take place for individuals with the diagnosis of Bipolar Disorder or Major Depressive Disorder. Instead of seeking mental illness as a problem, we would be better to view mental illness as an opportunity. As a very active Registered Nurse, I believe if we help others we may well end up helping ourselves. John, you did a great job sharing your story!

STIGMAS-THEY HARM

The main theme through the book is about the stigma of mental illness and an effort to do away with it. This book isn't just for those with Bipolar Disorder but anyone who has or knows someone who has, a mental disorder. This is a memoir about the author's life and the struggles he went through and the courage to face them.With any mental disorder comes a variety of stigmas, being suicidal, depression, mania, being discriminated against and sometimes being hospitalized. Every person with a mental disorder affects people in different ways. As Mr. Wade goes through his life being bipolar, he deals the best he can with the disease. The Operation, a group doing research is controlling much of Mr. Wade's life.He lets his heart open and honestly tells about his life.If you have someone in your life with any mental disorder, try to practice patience, love and above all be there for them.Being bipolar has nothing to do with having a strong personality and will, It has nothing to do with being a functional and fruitful individual.It's a disease and can be treated. I feel it took a lot of strength and courage to write about his life with being bipolar. It's not an easy life but you can live a productive, happy life. We as a society, should be more tolerable. People with mental illness haven't asked to have it. It chose them. It has nothing to do with these people being good, kind and loving people. They are misunderstood. The author wrote a wonderful book that helps those with mental illness and those who have loved ones with the disease to be positive and try to overcome all the fears and stigmas that come with it.

Fascinating and inspirational story

This is not a "do what I did and become a millionaire" type book. This is the story of one man and his determination to make something of himself, to achieve his goals and turn his dreams into reality.

This book was a fascinating read for me. The author is very open and honest about his experiences with bipolar disorder--the symptoms as well as the social ramifications.

I believe that it took a great deal of courage for the author to write this book, to let the entire world see his struggles. But the important thing is that he has never let those struggles defeat him. With the help of his amazing support system, he has been able to lead a very successful life.

I believe this book would be beneficial to anyone who has someone in their life suffering from a mental illness, as well as being inspirational to those with a mental illness. There is hope for achieving the life you dream of, if you just keep trying.

Enlightening

I just finished this book last night - it was given by a friend who knew i'd love it and thought it would be beneficial for me to read. She was so right! The main character 'Natalie' is incredibly relatable and open as she shares so much of her inner self through her diary excepts.. It just made me feel normal and gave me hope for a future that maybe my dreams will come true.. she talks through the ups and downs of school, work, friendships, boyfriends..and how she so often loses faith in the world but always manages to find it again. I have to say i found it truly inspiring as well as funny and a good read.. it's well written and well rounded. I could do nothing but smile by the end.. Well worth the read!

Really enjoyed reading this book - was fascinated by Natalie's journey and effervescent quest for Mr. Right. There were laugh out loud moments as well as a heavy heart at times - from me - as she moved on again and again and again...I was grateful to her grandmother for her gentle affirming order telling Natalie to stop chasing boys! Most girls will be able to relate to this book - without a doubt! Loved the Italy bits and the honesty on the whole. Diary snippets interspersed with deep quotes made it a very easy read.... brava!

A wonderful read

Natalie Savvides wrote an honest book about her experiences as a young woman trying to figure out life in her 20s and early 30s. I could relate to many of her experiences. She is very brave to expose herself like this to benefit many others and show young women they aren't alone. This was a great read. I enjoyed it immensely. I laughed and sometimes I cringed and I most certainly couldn't put it down. I'm looking forward to her next book and find out what is next for Natalie.

I really enjoyed this book!!! I found it truly amazing how the author was able to pure out her soul!! I would recommend this book to any women or teen who have experienced hardship. Travelling through life

A lovely collection of memories from Giselle Roeder. Childhood tales from her German family, circa WW2, to recent experiences in modern-day Canada, the stories reflect on life-lessons relevant to us all. The message that comes through is to listen to your inner self, and obey prompts that could lead to better things – prompts that might even save your life!
I found her reflections on the state of East Germany during the 1950s & 60s particularly informative. All most people know of that era was filtered by the TV news, so the author’s personal view gives it a whole new dimension.
‘Hope you’re not superstitious?’ relates an other-worldly experience that will find echoes with many people, myself included. And although I’ve never visited Hawaii – a couple of stories will no doubt prompt happy (and maybe no-so-happy?) memories amongst those who know the islands well.
The travel-tale to which I related personally comes towards the end of the book: ‘Too Bad it’s Canada’ – the title a quote from some anonymous visitor which made me chuckle. I was privileged to visit Vancouver some years ago, and remember its stunning situation, the breath-taking offshore islands and the warm welcome of local people. Some years before that, I was aboard a merchant ship visiting Tasu, one of the Queen Charlotte Islands – also mentioned by the author. Happy memories!
In a long and fascinating life, Giselle Roeder has achieved success from what was surely a most inauspicious beginning. That beginning was recounted in her memoir, ‘We Don’t Talk About That,’ a book I found profoundly moving.
The short stories in ‘Forget-Me-Not’ show just how far she has travelled since – in every sense. Short stories are more difficult to master than either novel or memoir – and I gather this collection is a first for the author, hence my award of four stars rather than five. But these are a light rendition of a long and fascinating life - ideal for taking on a journey!

Fun Schooling. Word games

Fun Schooling. Word games. Read, write and spell. 100 words that every child should master by age 10. An animal coloring book. Super cute book. I am new to homeschooling, only one year in but the previous curriculum we were using was not working for us. I am very drawn to a Charlotte Mason and unschooling approach and in my research I found these fun schooling books. They have been perfect for us and changed our homeschooling for the better. This little book is perfect for little hands and does not take but a few minutes to do a page or two each day. Repetition is key in this approach and this book does a good job of that.

Awesome spelling book! My daughter is not a child that sits still for anything, especially seatwork, but this book has captured her! She loves that you get to color and doodle along with the 'real work'. It is a small book but it's packed with great activities that seem to truly engage kids!

As an actor, he was in front of the camera with Marcello Mastroianni and in the film adaptation of Umberto Eco’s “The Name of the Rose“ with Sean Connery. He could have gone far if it hadn’t been for his carefreeness and gullibility. That he didn’t take off in his best days and didn’t go under in his worst – that is thanks to his safe haven at Lake Lucerne and his mother.

Urs Althaus, born in 1956 in Herliberg in Switzerland, grew up as the only black and Protestant child in Altdorf, in Catholic historic Switzerland, having a much easier time than one would have assumed. After school, he started a football career first with FC Basel and then with FC Zürich, which he had to give up due to an injury. During his commercial training, he got his first modelling job by chance and flew to Tokio. What occured afterwards is a life between fairy tale and nightmare. After many happy as well as unhappy years abroad, Urs Althaus now lives in Switzerland again and – as an actor – time and again in Italy.

My Husband of sixteen years, James Anthony Caldon, the Father of our three children, served with the Navy Seabees Mobile Construction Battalion in Vietnam in 1968. In January 1987, while we were building our dream home in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, our lives, as we knew it and dreamed of for many years, suddenly disappeared ….forever. My Husband was diagnosed with Stage IV, non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma – certified by the VA as “service-related due to exposure to herbicide” - commonly known as
“Agent Orange.” Our young children were just 2, 4 and 6 years old. I am now in my nineteenth year fighting for my VA DIC Spousal Benefits through insurmountable and never-ending paperwork and total disregard to the facts by the VA Claims System. I have known Denise Sorkness for 35 years. While in search for a "nanny" for my infant son, I knew when I met her that Denise was the one I could trust to take care of my infant son as if he were her own, She was so attached to her own new son that she knew the most important job for her at that stage in her life was that of caring for other children while she nurtured her Sean at home. She was a "natural", and she never hesitated to apprise me of my son's every milestone that I missed, such as his "first steps", always with the excitement she showed for her own son's achievements.
Denise went on to have a baby girl and then another boy. I have followed the progress of her children into adulthood, and despite the
challenges they all faced, they have all matured into kind and grounded adults, thanks to Denise's unfailing love and guidance. In fact, there is little, in the way of life events that we have not shared over the years, despite being separated by distance after Denise returned to Georgia to be closer to her mother and siblings and away from her husband,(Jim) who had become ill (both physically and mentally) from lymphoma (diagnosed in 1987) due to exposure to Agent Orange while serving our country in Viet Nam in the 60's.
Soon after his diagnosis, Jim's behavior became increasingly erratic and frightening, leading to the dismantling of their once-happy "Camelot-type" home life, Rather than list the many examples of horrific incidents with which Denise had to deal in order to protect her children from a man who suffered (and consequently caused much angst on the part of his family), I urge you to read Denise's formidable account of perseverance and determination in an effort to protect her family from events that originated from her husband's attempt to serve our country and that eventually, like for so many other families of veterans, went horribly wrong.
Denise is a strong, persistent woman, who, with unconditional love for her children, grandchildren and the rest of her family, has remained steadfast in her resolve to do the right thing and to bring hope and light into the lives of other families whose experiences may mirror hers or whose lives may be less fortunate. She is dedicated to her family and to her country, and she is a loyal friend. She has often spoken to me of her pride in being an "American". "Stall, Deny and Hope They Die...." is a mantra that she is trying with this book, with speaking engagements and with all her might, to replace with a message of hope for the families of veterans all over this wonderful country of ours,

Even though I witnessed my twin sister's story first hand, I could NOT put this book down until I have finished reading it! I know ALL too well her 19+ year battle with the VA to get them to "right their wrong". And although still unresolved, there is a "happy ending" because through her book she is opening doors and opening minds to the "Stall, Deny and Hope They Die" policy of the VA System! So proud of her for knowing to "Never Never Give Up"!

Nice intro to the queens.

This is a decent intro to the 6 queens. A little too brief on some, too much sympathy on others, a little too hard on others, but all in all a good start on the study of the queens.

Engaging peak into the reign of Henry VIII, the women in his life and the British culture

For a fun and engaging story of the Reformation Period and British History - read this book. I will admit that I covered the book as the title is quite a damper for reading to Jr and Sr High boys. It's been such a great read, my boys have really enjoyed it (they are major Wakeboarders, Snow Skiers, Surfers - so this tells you something about the book). Carole Joy Seid recommended it, and I am thrilled to find a hardcover that will last. This should be reprinted in the Turtleback edition. The author seems to be very fair in their writing about the six women, and King Henry as well. We were fortunate to find a wonderful video on Amazon that covered the same subject - it was about Henry VIII castle but the material is very close. Great fun for a rain/snow day! Get this book - you will not be disappointed.
