Retanya Collins is a retired sales executive for a major hotel company. After more than twenty-five years in the industry, she has decided to become an author. This is her first book. Retanya has always been an avid reader. She was approached to be part of a panel of readers who gave invaluable suggestions on how to improve Chicken Soup for the African American Woman's Soul in 2005. The book was authored by Jack Canfield, Mark Victor Hansen, and Lisa Nichols and is available online. Retanya lives in Southern California with her two children and her dad.

Where passion meets purpose and the rest is "his story"

It's not everyday you find someone who absolutely loves their job. It is apparently clear that MSgt Willie L. Collins served his country with deep respect and admiration. He had a mission for service to not only his country, but also to his loving family. Serving proudly as a Marine was a dream come true for Collins and as you will discover in this book, despite tragedy, heartache and tough times, he persevered and today, we are all in a better place because of him.
The author reminds us through her father's story, that we can live valiantly through the good, the bad and the ugly. She provides a living testimony of what you can achieve when you believe and have a dream. Life is too short working in a job you don't enjoy. Each of us has a seed of potential. Nurture yours and unleash your greatest gifts on the world just like MSgt Willie L. Collins. the interactions we had were more fun than expensive toys or special events

The importance of Family time we had growing up was so re-lived through the story of my dad's life; the interactions we had were more fun than expensive toys or special events. As an adult child one of my fondest memory was our camping days and being able to work at the same corporate company SCE together. Military: A Beautiful True Love Story as my dad was a proud Marine in every way, the way we were raised with his guiding hand always there to protect us will remain with me forever. I am so proud to relive my dad's military days and truly understand what a Hero he was, and although he may not be able to voice his story today Thank You Retanya for capturing his story while he is still alive to celebrate and Thank Him for his service. The Past is that lesson you learn and today as his future he has shown in many ways to apply those lessons through his love and character. Well done and so heartfelt xoxoxoxo

I enjoyed reading this book and reliving part of my child ...

I enjoyed reading this book and reliving part of my child hood with my brother. it brought back memories of the times we spent together as a family. The story of his being trapped in water in Korea was a scary point and I am sure as he said, called upon all of his training as a marine. The book is easy reading and flows so well, you just keep reading to the end. The pictures added to the joy of reading and any service man having seen combat or not will enjoy this book. The author, Retanya Collins presented her fathers story with pride which makes her father doubly PROUD. Thank you.
