I love this book because I learned things I did not know. What an awesome book and an awesome DJ.

This book is delightful, knowledgeable and give an insight and awareness of children with autism. I love this book because I learned things I did not know and learned how to response to a child with autism. This book bring attention to a mothers love for her children and the love of a caring family and the family support is fantastic. Even though this book is not meant to be an experts opinion it is a book of family love and support and about a very special and loving child called DJ. I highly recommend this book to parents who maybe dealing with this challenge or a person who may say rude things when they see a parent with a child with autism and do not understand the behavior or actions of these children. Reading this book will help those people to better understand and not be so judgmental when confronted with children with autism.

I enjoyed Cindy and Michael's story of growing their loving family and discovering DJ at the same time. DJ may not talk, but he is an integral part of their lives. DJ's story is uniquely African-American, and at the same time, it is universal to all families with special needs kids. Don't expect a guidebook to coping with autistic kids; this is a very personal story. Cindy and Michael are upbeat and loving, and their delight in living shines on every page. Enjoy!

This was a great book especially for families going through the struggle. It was easy for me to relate because I too have a son with Autism so some of the situations are similar to mine. This was reality not scientific! Showed amazing participation from the other siblings!
