This is a fictional account of an actual case I handled as an attorney. Of the many cases I handled during my career, this was one of the more bizarre ones I came across. It took me about 3 months to write it and another 2 months for editing and publishing.
The story tracks a client who was obsessed with becoming a billionaire and his efforts to accomplish his goal, regardless of any laws that may have stood in his way. Readers who are interested in white collar crime mixed in with a little romance and a lot of greed will enjoy this story. Since the client was a chemist and a licensed chemical engineer, I thought the title was relevant. The cover merely illustrates the client's profession, yet it does not give any insight into the actual story, which develops as the book progresses.
Readers who are interested in courtroom proceedings and what goes on behind the scenes will find this book interesting and somewhat shocking. The real life processing of litigation is a far cry from what appears on TV and in the movies
About the Author
Peter Alpert has dedicated his life to the law. A retired attorney and former district court judge, he’s represented clients from all walks of life.
Alpert worked as a certified public accountant while taking law classes at night at the New York University School of Law. He’s practiced law in New York, Colorado, and Nevada. He presided over more than a thousand cases while serving a district judge in Colorado. He was also the CEO of a public employee health plan in Nevada.
Born in Brooklyn, New York, Alpert now lives in Las Vegas with his wife, Susan. Since retiring, he’s turned his attention to writing novels.

Great Read

An intreging read into the behind the scenes relationship of an attorney and his client. The descriptive writing style makes this novel an enjoyable read from the beginning to the very end.

This is the second book by Peter Alpert that I have read. I find his writing fascinating. Each novel was a compelling read. Once started, I had to finish the entire story before setting it down. They moved rapidly and kept my interest throughout the process. I was intrigued with the clarity of his work. Although complex from a plot standpoint, the novels both exemplified Mr. Alpert's wealth of legal experience. His character development was equally precise and led the reader through the stories with ease and a true understanding of individual behavior which evolved from personal
experience in the courtroom as both a judge and an advocate. It is obvious to the reader that he is well-versed in the law and with that knowledge,
his writing becomes a textbook of learning for the reader.
