We follow the ingenious villains who carried out the first great train robbery, and see the rise and fall of gangs. About the Author
Fergus Linnane combined a long career in journalism in London with a fascinated interest in the city's various underworlds. Since retiring as executive editor of the 'European' five years ago, he has written 'London's Underworld' and 'London: The Wicked City' (ISBN 1 86105 619 2). Fergus lives in Chelsfield, Kent.

I loved this book and recommend it to anyone with an interest in the history of London. It's very detailed, a nice thick book packed with three centuries worth of crime.
