A Must Read!

This book surprised me. Packed with insightful observations and woven with the President's own words which come alive on the page, this has got to be a thoroughly researched book and it is most entertaining. It is very timely right now and there is something for everyone in it.

The Emperor Has No Clothes

Quite an amazing array of eye-opening facts, and insightful analysis and opinion. Iconoclastic, but based on sound research. Highly recommended.

Upon moving into the White House, John Adam’s the second President of the United States of America uttered these words, "I pray Heaven to bestow the best of blessings on this house and all that shall hereafter inhabit it. May none but honest and wise men ever rules under this roof." In the span of 215 years since this statement, to the detriment of the American people, very few US Presidents have risen to meet this declaration. Author Douglas Alan Cohn brings these missteps made by the commander in chiefs during their freshman year in office front and center in his new book The President’s First Year.
The introduction of the book starts out with Cohn stating, " The only school for presidents is the presidency. The statement resonates so accurately as Cohn gives through in-depth research the fumbles our past and the future leaders have made during their first year in office. A fascinating read pulling back the curtain to show the flawed mistakes of these men who with or without your vote the American citizens put into the White House. All 44 presidents of the United States are mention in the book, giving some only a few pages where others received lengthy details of their failed first year. Cohn leaves partisan aside when describing the truth these men faced. My only criticism for this book would be in the context of chapter 9 the 43rd President lists William J. Clinton, which is confusing since chapter 4 also lists George W. Bush the 43rd President. It seems like someone doesn't know who the 42nd President is. For the record, that would be William J. Clinton.
