From the beginning, books were my first friends. I never felt alone when reading a good book. And, a man alone I have been off and on during my challenging, yet fortuitous life. Many times I've been told that I have a powerful impact story – one that should be told. For years I've resisted telling my story out of fear of either revisiting the scorched earth of my past or being perceived as one who is playing the victim card. Having said that, in truth, at times I even find my story hard to reckon. We all have a story, don't we? Mine is a bit out of the ordinary. This is my story...a love story, if you will – as I love life! Simply put, that's my philosophy. And I love the people in my life. I am blessed. I'm a man of deep faith and guiding principles. This is a story...a victory march highlighting passages of a life well lived – despite insurmountable odds at times. From childhood to adulthood, I'd have good people enter my life, as if a school play where and when the perfect character entered stage left or right, then parted. Unfortunately, evil and misfortune commanded my stage as well, often making me feel powerless and unworthy. Thank God God was in control. God prepared me well to be a life and career coach. In 2003 I published “Your Pathway to Personal Enrichment & Vocational Enlightenment.” The book featured (if not branded) the art of encouragement. I'm fond of telling people I'm not a therapist or a theologian. I am, indeed, The Encourager. I earned that title! As an older gentleman now, without doubt, it will be my legacy. With this book, just as it is my practice when coaching, it's my heart's desire that this book become a “temporary best friend” - to gently nudge you, while reading, allowing your spirit to soar to a better place. A dear friend of mine calls it “adding beauty to the world.” May this book be entertaining and informative as I share some of the “Lessons Learned from the University of Life” (speaking series). Life is an adventure! My adventure is one of exploring and developing my religious beliefs, personal philosophy and guiding principles to live by. It is my expectation, if not mission, dear reader for you to find new learning and spiritual awakening from my story...my victory march of grace and encouragement

About the Author
JOHN J. KLEIN is an “Encourager,” having lived a life blessed by the grace of others and from Heaven Above, where his wife Connie has won her victory march. A banker by trade, public servant by necessity and entrepreneur by desire, the Good Lord prepared him well along his journey to realize a personal and vocational ministry in life and career coaching, including authorship of his first book Your Pathway to Personal Enrichment & Vocational Enlightenment. John believes everyone has a story and has earned the right to look most anyone in the eye and say, “I understand.” John founded KLEINMARK, LLC., a company founded on the principles of common sense, reliable resources, practical experience and clear-thinking principles. Now retired, John is busy at his bucket list, which includes golfing at Arrowhead Country Club, travel and the joy of reading and writing. His favorite award was being named Optimist of the Year. Though a widower, his most revered titles in life are husband and father. Friendship ranks just as high. The mission of helping others help themselves marches on as John enjoys the company of good friends and family in the Valley of the Sun (Glendale, AZ).

An epic journey from boyhood to manhood

Finally found the time to read this summer and go on a journey with an author my family knows very well. The journey of John's life takes you through a rollercoaster of emotions within a tale of a young boy who would not be defined by his troubled upbringing, but by his strong character as he slowly developed into an extremely compassionate and unconditionally loving man, husband, father, friend, and encourager. If most of us only had an ounce of his unwavering determination and grace in this life, what a better world this would be. An unpretentious read for gaining great insight into how our environment and genes interact to impact the trajectory of our life (both good and bad) - in reading this book, my life was impacted for good!

An inspiring story and model of character development

Fueled by adversity, A Victory March is an inspiring story about the development of character on a graceful journey of realizing one’s potential, despite trying circumstances. A journey that could easily break the spirit and willpower of so many people, John endures through adversity and does so in such a graceful manner. His story serves to help inspire others that may be going through similar troubles with health or family. I highly recommend this book for anybody who may be going through trying times in their lives or for anybody who wants to always find the brighter side of a tough situation. John Klein exemplifies what it means to have true character and maintain grace in doing so.

"The Encourager" delivers again!

Mr. Klein has done it again! His second book has continued his message with inspiration and encouragement. He has been able to reach audiences with his "down to earth" writing techniques and life changing stories. Everyone can learn a lesson or two from Mr. Klein's "University of Life" teachings! I highly recommend this book to all readers who are looking for guidance and some meaning to life.
"Your Pathway" and "A Victory March" should complete every readers collections!
