I wrote A Movable Marriage in response to the question I was invariably asked whenever I met someone new: "Why do you and your husband move so much?" After my initial response declaring that we were neither in the Witness Protection Program nor the military, there was an awful lot to share. So here it is.A Movable Marriage is for you if you like to travel, armchair or otherwise. It's for you if you've ever had to move and it broke your heart. It's for you if you've ever wondered who it is you've been married to for the last couple of decades.Make yourself a cup of tea or pour a glass of wine and join me on the journey. About the Author
Born in Brooklyn, New York, Tricia Pimental is the author of two award-winning books: a memoir, Rabbit Trail: How a Former Playboy Bunny Found Her Way, and a novel, Slippery Slopes. A second memoir, A Movable Marriage, was released in January 2016. Other work has appeared in International Living; the quarterly magazine of International Women in Portugal, A Janela; and anthologies compiled by the Florida Writers Association and the National League of American Pen Women. but she puts her trust and love in him

At the beginning, Tricia writes lovingly about her home and her husband’s place in it. When they divorce, she keeps the house. When she marries Keith, her priorities begin to change. Keith takes her to new states, new businesses and new adventures. These myriad of changes force Tricia out of her comfort zone. Sometimes it’s terrifying, but she puts her trust and love in him. She slowly realizes that Keith is her home, not the many houses she thought were her priorities.

What a Life!

I enjoy memoirs because I find it fascinating to pull up a chair and get a front row view of another person's life and thoughts.I especially like to learn about lifestyles different from my own. I found what I was looking for in Ms. Pimental's story of her life after she begins a second marriage. Life with her new husband turns into a helter-skelter experience of moving back and forth across America and setting up a new household 11- 14 times in a few years. (The range of numbers is because the author and her husband had a different way of measuring their trips.) Moves to Florida, Nevada, Florida, Utah, Florida, New Hampshire along with starting new businesses along the way, are described by the author with humor and a positive attitude. The reader is treated to vivid descriptions of their side trips to tourist areas.While at times the writing is more like a travel itinerary, this is an engaging read and Ms. Pimental brings the story of her moves and her feelings about her life to a satisfying conclusion. You will have to read the book to see where they end up!
